You finally found the perfect photograph to use as an illustration for your article, brochure, etc. There is however one problem: the photographer is either unknown or untraceable. That means you can’t use the photograph, since you need to ask permission to use it (and probably have to pay for the use). You'll need to start looking for another, less perfect, photograph.

That’s why the Dutch Photography Federation started a service called Photo Anonymous. You tell them you will use the photo, pay for the use of it, and they save the money until the photographer has been found.
